Supplies:

100g Natural Beeswax

40g Fractionated Coconut Oil

20g Honey 

20 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

10 Drops Oregano Essential Oil

Note:

Additional fractionated coconut oil can be added in very cold climates, while the amount should be reduced to 20-30g in warm/hot weather. 

Step 1:

Melt your wax over low heat in a double boiler, stirring until evenly melted 

Step 2: 

Add your essential oils, coconut oil, and honey while maintaining low heat. Stir until evenly mixed and melted. 

Step 3: 

Pour the melted mixture into your containers, being careful to keep it properly mixed as it pours. Note that the larger the containers, the more prone the mixture is to cracking. You can avoid cracking by pouring in smaller amounts, using a heat gun to slow down the cooling process, or just let it crack. Cracking doesn’t affect the product at all - just the prettiness of the packaging ;) 

Usage Instructions:

Thoroughly clean your horse's hoof, including the collateral grooves (on either side of the frog), the central sulcus (the middle of the frog), white line, and any pockets of dirt. 

Break away a small chunk of the hardened beeswax mixture with your hoof pick, and squish/roll it in your hands to soften it. Once softened, use the mix to fill any small cracks, crevices, or crannies in the hoof wall or frog.

These ingredients are non-caustic and should not cause discomfort.
