Site Under Construction! Thank you for your patience - Maren
At Omn Nom Equine, I believe there is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” approach to horse care.
Every horse is an individual, and the hoof, body, lifestyle, and overall health are all connected. When something isn’t working quite right, it’s important to look at the whole horse and consider how all the little pieces fit together to create the picture we see today.
When working with a horse, I consider factors such as:
Diet & nutrition
Environment & lifestyle
Exercise & workload
Age, fitness & physical condition
Dental balance
Hoof health & pathology
Body restrictions & asymmetries
Muscle tension
Conformation
Behaviour & comfort
And everything in between
My goal is not simply to address what is happening on the surface, but to understand why it is happening and how we can support the horse as a whole.
Whether we are working through a hoof rehabilitation, addressing restrictions in the body, improving hoof handling, or simply helping your horse feel and function at their best, I strive to create a plan that is practical, compassionate, and tailored to the individual horse.
I offer individualized hoof care for horses undergoing hoof rehabilitation, performance horses, and balanced maintenance trims, with an emphasis on helping the horse develop the healthiest, most functional feet possible. My services include hoof boot fitting, composite shoeing, hoof armor, and hoof casting, as needed.
Bodywork is a valuable part of supporting your horse’s comfort, movement, and overall well-being. I work primarily through fascia release, and sessions are tailored to each horse. Bodywork is a beneficial addition to rehabilitation, regular maintenance, and pre/post show preperation. During my sessions, I may incorporate a variety of techniques and tools, including Kinesiology tape, Red Light Therapy, and Balance pads.
I believe horses should be active participants in their own care whenever possible. Using positive reinforcement (R+) training, we can help your horse build confidence and understanding around handling and care. R+ Training and Consults can include positive hoof handling experiences, behaviour consults, and support for horses who are nervous, fearful, or have had negative handling experiences.
